We had the good fortune of connecting with Estevan Reynoso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estevan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I’d say the most important factor would be simply listening to my clients! I’m brought on for a project to bring their vision to life, I have to understand their story to present a cinematic experience for their audience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was far from a smooth road! Between 2016 and 2018 I was cold calling clients, sending emails and direct messages on social media offering free work just to build a portfolio. An early struggle was also selling my work as cinematic films or at the very least a cinematic video. Some clients would frown upon the idea of making social media content “cinematic”, but I believed in the vision, blessed to meet clients who saw the value.

Cutting my pricing just enough to take on any work, as an artist I was grateful to be granted any opportunity to film. When the Pandemic hit in 2020, many previous and new clients flooded my inbox for video content since the world was moving online. That year was when the workload and demand skyrocketed, prompting me to take on my hobby professionally and buy a professional camera. Picking up a professional camera along with my filmmaking style allowed me to separate myself from videographers and put myself on the map.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So many options!!!! Let’s do a quick day trip. Rent a Slingshot from adrenaline rush LA. Stop by Ballastpoint Long Beach or islands burgers. Then maybe hit Bolsa Chica to catch a Sunset or finish the day with a dodger game!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yikes! There’s so many people that I give credit to bringing my brand to life. First off my parents and family, they’ve been my #1 fans and sometimes my only clients when I first started hahaha! Definitely photographers Flash A Smile, Serena Flickz, Paul Han, and Tom Dewh helping me shape my image behind the scenes. For major projects putting me on the map definitely give credit to Foldies, Tribal Theory, Yelp, and Madres Brunch.
