We had the good fortune of connecting with Ethan Greenfeld and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ethan, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is something that I have given a lot of thought to, and it’s honestly what continues to push me at the end of every day. I have pretty big plans, and have always felt like you need to dream big. Furthermore, I believe that you have to master each goal for yourself before moving on to the next. Ideally, I want to have a brick-and-mortar location in the West LA area where we can literally do it all. From building and designing new homes to commercial designs and builds. At the same time, I want to have my own furniture and accessory line that is designed and manufactured in LA. Basically, everything you want can be done by us for you under the Ethan Charles Design lifestyle brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started in furniture retail, and really enjoyed my time there. It allowed me to learn about furniture in a much more in-depth way, such as how quality furniture is manufactured and what things to look for when shopping for pieces that are worth the investment. Funny enough, I actually discovered I had both a passion and a knack for design while working for these companies. I have a small team of three, including myself, and we focus mainly on residential design. We do everything from remodels and new builds to furnishings and decor. We take so much pride in the amount of detail that goes into all our projects, and strive to create designs that will stand the test of time and build an environment that envelops our clients the moment they walk through the door. Our goal is for everyone to walk into their home with a smile every time. The designs we create are light, bright, airy, organic, and uncontrived. The easiest way to sum up what we do is luxurious livability.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would 100% take them on a food tour of LA. We would hit up the Venice food trucks on the first Friday of the month! Head over to Colori Kitchen for a nice little Italian meal, and of course pop over to Henry’s Tacos on Tujunga in Studio City. These are just to name a few, but we would obviously eat our way through the entire weekend! We would end our time at Rosenthal Winery off the PCH for a lovely view and a great glass of wine! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It might sound slightly cliche, but I would want to recognize my team, my family, and my clients. My business is almost entirely referral based, and if it wasn’t for the words of my clients, I wouldn’t have a company today. I literally cannot thank them enough for their continued support and belief in my business and my brand. At the end of the day, the people who have pushed and supported me from the beginning are my family and my team because without them there would be no Ethan Charles Design.
