We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan Camacho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from San Jose, California, spent collage in San Luis Obispo, and then was in Vancouver, Canada before I arrived in LA. Really what was gained from those years was decision making. That is the key to being an adult. The ability to make choice’s, even if they’re the wrong ones because you learn from them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My two primary fields of art and entertainment are acting and writing. What makes me unique is my incredible flexibility. I was trained in theater and because performance is live, whatever happens on or off stage in the moment has to be adapted to. That is what I love about acting. When I am in the moment, there is no faking it. Whatever it takes to make the performance as real as possible is how I like to work. It has not been easy. Thousands of rejections, silent or outright stated, can be hard to swallow. The key is to learn from the past and keep moving forward. As a writer, my partner and I specialize in history. There are so many stories that have not been told that are relevant to today and, most importantly, are interesting.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them?
If I had my choice of places to show someone, I would choose London. I spent a summer there and it changed my life. The museum of Natural History, as well has seeing their live shows(particularly musicals) would be my primary selling points. Spending a day exploring London itself with its landmarks along with the history behind them on our own without your guides or groups is my style. Picadilly Circus is the equivalent of Times Square, so would be a must see for clubs as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Obviously, my family is one of my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t be here without them. But here in LA I have an amazing best friend and writing partner, Jaclyn Lopez. My fantastic acting coach Greg Zanfardino is another who has helped me push beyond what I thought was possible. Another who has been an incredible mentor and coach has been actress Viva Bianca. I have been working with her for several months now and it has been amazing how much I have noticed my own improvement as an actor.
