We had the good fortune of connecting with Evonne Britton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evonne, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As far as my work life balance it is important for me to have a schedule and follow it or else things can quickly get overwhelming. From my athletic college days from training to classes and Traveling and competing. Not much has changed besides competing at a higher level and juggling my training business along with going back to school for my masters in public administration. Without balance I don’t see how I would be able to stay motivated and get as much done as I have.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am training for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics this July. I am excited to have the opportunity to peruse my dreams of becoming a olympic medalist. A lot of hard work sacrifice and perseverance are the 3 main things I have had to endure. Not everything will be easy but when you position your self correctly and give everything you got then that’s when opportunity meets preparation. I want people to know that it’s ok to fall down not once but 100 times and get back up and still succeed
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely want to go to some reasturants where the stars are. Take them to a pier or two for a beach day in the summer. Drive to Hollywood maybe go on a hike to enjoy the weather. Have some fun bowling or skating and probably have a spa day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My coach who helped me get to the next level and allowed me to grow in other aspects.
