Meet Farbod Ardebili | Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Farbod Ardebili and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Farbod, why did you pursue a creative career?
It was not much of a choice. It was more like an urge. An urge that, if not satisfied, could break me from inside.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born and raised in Tehran/Iran and only moved to the United States about seven years ago. My experience in Iran taught me the real value of freedom and shaped me into the man I am today. It wasn’t a smooth journey but coming to the US finally enabled me to turn decades of oppression into art that I can share with the world and I’m not going to stop anytime soon.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I moved to Los Angeles relatively recently, but I can confidently say that the beaches here are absolutely stunning, especially during sunsets.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to Professor Tom Musca. My mentor and the man who believed in me and taught me everything that I needed to know to start my career.
