We had the good fortune of connecting with Feverfew and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Feverfew, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The amount of confidence in wearing an item that is perfectly curated to you is incomparable. Shopping from a made-to-order brand requires patience and understanding but the reward is worth it. Made-to-order works for people with specific requests ie. shorter sleeves, longer legs, tighter fit, looser fit. The garment does not get made until the item has been purchased, this ensures that no fabric is wasted and whatever fabric is leftover can be used for new designs. Knowing where your garment comes from, and who makes it, gives the clothing more meaning; it gives a sense of community and purpose. Shop small, shop smart, shop Feverfew.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We take pride in the fact that we are two women taking on every role of this business. We oversee everything from start to finish, starting with the design process & resulting in a finished product. When it comes to fashion design, perfection is key. It begins with the design, from sketching to picking the color palettes, then the samples begin. Once the sample is finalized, we shoot content for instagram and the website and we’re ready to sell! As the orders come in, we hand sew each product and ensure that it gets shipped out. We take each challenge as they come with an overall idea of our identity and who we are but also adapting to fulfill a need for our consumers. Our biggest challenge has been gaining trust from potential consumers. We will continue to work towards building that trust and being as transparent as possible with our followers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As soon as they land from the airport, we go straight to Lechuza Beach. Take them home to unpack and get dressed in Feverfew. Ready to go for some drinks and live music at Good Times at Davey Wayne’s. Honestly we’re very impulsive, so after this we would just go where the wind takes us. Maybe some good Mexican foods at Javier’s, some authentic Greek food at Taverna Tony. Have you ever had a boot beer? The best at Wirtshaus on La Brea. If we’re feeling artsy, we’d go to The Getty. If you’re a record fan, we would head down to Amoeba Music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Other artists have been a huge inspiration in giving us the drive we need to continue conquering new challenges. And when those challenges come our way, we are thankful to friends and family to help us face them.
