Meet Gabe Fleck | Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabe Fleck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gabe, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The discovery of ability was birthed from pure boredom in all honesty. I loved learning the guitar which naturally led to a love of songwriting and then producing and making beats. I think discovery is what has held my interest in any sort of creative career. Learning about the business of music is still super interesting to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I still don’t really feel like a professional by any means in this field. Like I don’t have management or anything like that. So it’s cool I’ve gotten this far but there’s never any pressure to be on a schedule or do any type of shows or anything. The momentum I’ve gained while remaining independent is super nice.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live around Silverlake and Koreatown so we’d definitely be hitting Shatto 39 Lanes. We’d likely go get street tacos from somewhere on Virgil and take them to Bellevue Park. One day would be a beach day dedicated to Santa Monica pier and Venice boardwalk. And I’d have to show them the Silverlake reservoir as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Cleopatra Boudreau, Mickey Lee, Jr Gonzalez, Zachery Leritz, Alex Norris (chuckbonit_), Michael Aaron Smith, Ian Michael Lindsay, yuckgod, Sam Mendoza, Lord Succulent, my mother, my sister
