We had the good fortune of connecting with GABI PURRER and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi GABI, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that I have followed what has meaning to my heart, expressing with integrity my essential creativity and my love for people. This has lead to a successful and very rewarding business in the Healing Arts.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It has been a long, intense and courageous journey that led to my current business. I had to travel all the way from Austria to California, USA, where I found a private international progressive school that used the principles of an Austrian visionary whose name was Rudolph Steiner. Here I was able to use my educational degree, my multilingual ability, my love of children and my natural creativity by teaching young and precious souls as well as assisting in the development of an unusually creative and out of the box curriculum. During these years I also pursued my interest in the Healing Arts and eventually trained in Body Therapies at the Western Institute of Neuro Muscular Therapy where I was mentored and well guided by the owner, a gifted business woman and healer from Brazil. I began with a focus on Injury Rehabilitation, Sport’s Massage and Swedish/ Deep tissue Massage to help people get in touch with their own bodies, make them feel better and empower them to take care of themselves. As I continued my training in diverse transpersonal energy therapies, I found myself counseling people in many aspects of life. Having the experience of a large cultural change from Europe to California, of teaching and guiding children as well as bridging communication with their parents and other teachers and a long- term marriage that ended in divorce, grew my compassion, empathy and wisdom to assist people in their own difficult circumstances. This all led to a large loyal and loving clientele who I am deeply grateful to for their support in my business. Offering spiritual guidance with the tools of a fellow Austrian, Ingrid Auer, was the next step that arose organically through my own spiritual connection to the angelic realm. What sets me apart from others, I believe, is that I can use this large variety of experience, knowledge and knowing in different combinations to help clients find their unique way of discovering what works best for them individually to achieve a sense of wellbeing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Laguna Beach is such a beautiful place to live and visit. I would first take them to the beach at the Montage Hotel. There is a small cove called Geoff Cove which is safe, protected and simply wonderful to relax, get some sun and also swim in. Moulin, a little French Bistro, provides a European atmosphere, rich tasting coffee and delicate variety of pastries to enjoy. Zeytoon Cafe is another hidden gem. Authentic, high quality mediterranean-style dishes with a lovely rooftop deck and an oceanview patio. My absolute favorite place to take friends is the experience of dining at 242 Cafe Fushion Sushi. The interior was designed, built and represents the artistic self- expression of the owner, Miki. She picks the right wine to pair with sushi which heals the soul – simply decadent! Getting a glimpse of the vast coastline and beauty of Laguna is a hiking experience at the Top Of The World. You have a choice of trails and you can pick how challenging or easy of an exercise feels right for the day. Places to visit are the Festival of the Arts, the Sawdust Festival and of course the Pageant of the Masters.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh..that is easy to answer…. My love and gratitude goes to Rita Hildebrandt for her profound wisdom, mentorship, patience , teachings and unconditional loving support.
