We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Syrengelas and Jen Asaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Georgia & Jen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting your own business can be scary and intimating , but there a lot of benefits that go along with it. We first met in 2006 working for a bridal hair and makeup company. As two woman who wanted to be entrepreneurs, we decided to take a leap of faith and branch off to start our own company. With creating something from the ground up this allowed us to invest in ourselves as leaders and to build a strong team. Loving the flexibility and being able to work from any environment from Miami to Los Angeles just to name a few . In the end it’s nice to follow your passion and do what’s makes you happy but also making more money along the way is a great thing. More importantly, using our products and services to create and inspire beauty in peoples lives.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are a professional hair and makeup team based out of Los Angeles, but also travel anywhere for our clients. What sets apart is that we specialize in weddings. The most important thing is to us is that you look beautiful, but also it is just as important that we make your big day run smoothly. Also we love the other end of things being more free and creative. From our editorial work to transforming the human canvas into a desired character. It’s not always easy, but working together we always find time to laugh and to make our clients laugh with us.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s LA where do we even begin… Just to name a few Griffith Park, The Getty Museum and The Grand Central Market would be on the top of our list. For the beach vibe Venice and Santa Monica being a few of our favorites. A few closer to home in Long Beach. The King’s Fish House and Bo-Beau Kitchen on Pine Street. Retro Row for vintage Shopping is a must!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
With this crazy year that we’ve all had it seems most important right now to give a shoutout to our family and friends. They are the ones who always have our backs!
