Meet Giovanni Perez | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Giovanni Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Giovanni, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks allows you to learn about yourself. It can be scary and your thoughts can build doubts through the process, but it allows you to really have just another life experience. As an actor you can take from all those emotions and life experiences, use those feelings to create a world your audience can relate to. In my life and career I have master risk to the point it’s a necessity for my growth. There’s a quote that says. “A life without risk is not worth living” I encourage you to take risks.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a young boy, I found solace and inspiration in martial arts, alongside exploring the realm of performing arts through drama classes. Today, my passion for storytelling and discipline cultivated from martial arts converge in my current project, Damaged: A Hobo’s Tale Episode 1, which was recently nominated in the Urban Action Film Festival in New York and is now streaming on Lookhu.tv. This journey has taught me that if I can overcome obstacles to pursue my dreams, anyone else can too. As a Latino creator and martial artist, I recognize the scarcity of representation in Hollywood within this genre. Moving forward, I’m excited to not only fill this void but also to explore new horizons in filmmaking, including working on other action film projects and even venturing into the realm of Westerns.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
