We had the good fortune of connecting with Glaucia Stanganelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glaucia, what inspires you?
Mainly my inspirations come from subtle realms, during meditation, walks, and dreams. That’s when I feel that super creative energy coming through, a connection with something bigger than myself. And I do have to cultivate a practice to be connected, centered and fully inspired. For me that means nourishing my soul with kundalini yoga daily, contact with nature, walks or swimming in the ocean or lake.
I also get super inspired by other creative souls, I love to be around unique and fully expressed humans creating in so many different ways and outlets, bringing ideas to improve and elevate our life here in this planet (and off planet too, lol).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I say am a creator of beautiful things and beautiful experiences. I feel like my mission is to bring beauty to this world, physically and energetically.

I currently do fine art (on my way to digital art soon), I have a sustainable fashion line, I perform sound healing and kundalini yoga experiences. For me they are all about creating beauty.

My journey started with an alternative sustainable fashion line, where I enjoyed so much to tell a story, to defend a cause or point of view, with the collection, short movies, the photoshoot campaigns, and sometimes fashion shows. Straight out of college I went to adventure myself in London and literally put myself out there, showing my collections at street markets like Camden Town and Portobello Market, to them eventually being invited to be part of a designer collective. On the side, to have financial support, I was first working for a designer and then for Topshop. After that, back in Brazil, I felt the need to know more about marketing and took an MBA in the subject, right after that my second brand was born, Philosofée, a philosophy to wear. Created with passion to empower women to conquer their dreams, in timeless and ultra feminine pieces, to be graceful at all moments, yet strong and determined. Yes, an outfit can make us feel all that, or at least can help us remember all that.
I started small, going to trade shows, collaborating with other designers, to the point I was selling to boutiques all over Brazil, to England and Japan. After a few years, business and inspirations changed, I moved to New York to reignite and find new inspiration. I worked with Layana Aguilar for a bit then I decided to relaunch Philosofée in the US. Producing locally, first in New York, then in Los Angeles. Evolving and transforming along the way. Realized the dream of showing at New York Fashion Week with a designer collective that has been so fun to be part of, a super inspiring community I am grateful I connected with.

As a typical gemini, that is just one of my careers, haha.
For the art, my paintings and short movies, I always painted on the side as a hobby, and later in life, when I went deeper into my spirituality the artwork just came as part of of my spiritual work, an extension of it. My artwork comes from deep meditation practice, I share my interpretation of images and sensations from an etheric and subtle realm. Organically people near me started to ask me for paintings, and I made it all more public, a real business, structuring and organizing product lines, marketing campaigns and my first art show in Los Angeles in 2021. I now sell online and take commissions and collaborations.

And the third career path I have, is the creation of experiences with kundalini yoga and sound healing, playing crystal bowls, gong and mantras. It all started with me just sharing what I practice myself, then it escalated to teaching privately, creating wellness events, and working with mental health clinics, which feels so rewarding and inspiring when it is visible how these techniques can improve quality of life and energy levels in all aspects.

It sounds complicated, but in reality it is all connected 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start the day jogging around my neighborhood, that is super charming filled with flowers and ancient trees. Grab breakfast at Bardonna on Montana, then walk around the shops around there that are so fun and unique, specially Burro Gift shop, DEsigns by Musti, Ballon celebrations (they make the most stunning ballon bouquets I’ve ever seen), stop for mani & pedi at this hidden spot upstairs, away from the street traffic. Later go to the beach in the Palisades or Malibu, take some refreshments, games, and probably do a meditation there.
Stop for lunch at Juicy Ladies in the Palisades, they have amazing healthy delicious food in a charming quiet environment.
Definitely would take my friend for a hike around there too, Temescal PArk.
And to keep things very local I would go back to Montana av, for wine and dinner at Forma.

I definitely would plan also a hike in Topanga, that would end with a pizza at Endless Color.
And a yoga class or workshop at Ra Ma Los Angeles, a sacred temple in the middle of the city, a real energy vortex to recharge the batteries.

And for a more fun night, I would go hangout at Soho House West Hollywood or Soho Warehouse in downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
oooooh this is a big one. Yes a few shoutouts for sure. First to my parents that always supported me no matter how unusual my dreams were, no matter how many times I changed my mind (it was a lot, giggles), no matter how unconventional my choices had been.

Secondly to all my teachers: from the time I was a professional ballerina, Marcia and Helena, to my college days in fashion school, Mario Queiroz and the whole team at Anhembi Morumbi, to my yoga teacher and forever mentor Guru Jagat and all the teachers at Ra Ma; and finally to my painting teacher Teca Passos.

And thirdly to my magnificent friends that inspire me and support me so much: Stefanye Falco, Alexandra Hulme, Rosana Dias , Mari Polidoro and Carol Coelho.
