We had the good fortune of connecting with NICOLAS HOSPITAEL and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NICOLAS, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I strongly believe that good habits are the root of success. In my case, the habits that truly work for me are all my morning habits.
I wake up early, I meditate, I work out, I read, then I get ready for the day after a healthy breakfast. These are for me primordial to start a good day.
These are also very easy to implement in anyone’s life. I have heard so many people that are convinced that they are not “morning people” or whatever that means. I strongly and respectfully disagree with that thought.
These morning habits have been proven and certified because these are the morning steps of the most successful people on earth. Of course, these are not the only habits for being successful in life, but if you know of a path that is guaranteed to get you closer to your goal, why are you constantly searching for another path without moving.
Try it! Really try it! You have nothing to lose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an actor and model. For me, acting is not just a wonderful, and beautiful art, but more importantly, it is a way of living. I love the fact that whenever I act, I get to embody a new life, and through this life that I embody I get this chance of making people dream. Also, I am very proud to be living this dream.

As an international actor, it is not every day easy to thrive in Hollywood as opposed to being from the United States.
I am proud of where I am from, and my main strength is that I am truly aware of where I want to be in my career, as a result, I am diligently focused and persistent in my craft. This international career of mine is also a strength in the sense that I have gathered various experiences and knowledge. I can proudly say that I am very good at what I am doing.

This journey has taught me how to be humble, and so, I know that I haven’t reached that far yet in my career. However, I know that this path is a path of resilience.
In my case, my biggest challenge here in LA has been and still is to stand out as a young foreign actor with a French accent. Most of the time, it doesn’t help to get the part. But you know what, I tell myself that I have to work three times more than an American actor, therefore, every day, I work on my accent so that ultimately, I can do parts with and without an accent.

I am looking forward to seeing my career bloom. I am proud of this journey that I started as difficult as it may be. Tom Hanks once said these words that today still resonate in me: “If it was easy, everybody would do it”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a French person, I am very true to my culture, especially when it comes to food. There are two places I would take any friend or family with me in LA. The first one is the farmer’s market. This place gathers cuisine from all around the world. You can also find there a french restaurant named “Monsieur Marcel”. It has great French food, but more importantly, it has a small market full of fresh french products that you can fill up your fridge with. You can start your day there if it was the first thing on a weekend long.
The second place, of course, is another french restaurant. “Republique” is by far the best french restaurant I have ever eaten at in LA, on questions asked. Just try it.
If you want to go for a walk and see beautiful nature and art, I would take you to the Getty village.
Or, if you are a fan of cinema, I would bring you to the Museum of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences on Wilshire Boulevard.
One great and well-known place to have a drink and socialize is “the Bungalow” in Santa Monica.
If you like sports activities, you can find a great surfing spot in Malibu near the pier. I also love going to batting cages with friends. “Strikezon” near Korea-town is a very good address to have fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give this shoutout to Mr. Erik Thomas. He is a motivational speaker and when I needed the motivation to keep going and keep hustling, I just needed to listen to his podcasts. He is very inspirational and has a voice that pierces through your soul. Here is one of his best quotes that still resonates in me and will resonate forever: “when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be SUCCESSFUL!”
