We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Gulesserian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grant, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is the basis to all growth. Without taking risks, I wouldn’t be where I am today. When I first started Flyby Imagery, I had to pull out a loan and go into debt to start my company. Things were a challenge at first, but with the belief that I would overcome the risks involved in this endeavor I kept growing my company and eventually paid back all my loans. I met some amazing people and role models along the way. They helped me get to where I am. As I am writing this, I am working in Washington State on a TV show for Discovery. Without the initial risk of starting my company, there is no way I would be here. In my opinion. risk is essential in any new venture and it has played a huge role in my life and career.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Flyby Imagery is a production company that incorporates creativity with state of the art technology. We capture frames of time with the use of our high-quality cameras and industry-leading gyro-stabilized gimbals. We’ve focused on still, motion, and aerial shots to create a vision that encompasses a natural and cinematic approach. We are most proud of our passion and professionalism. Our creativity sets us apart because we go the extra mile to make sure our clients are happy and satisfied. This is the very reason we are where we are today. It wasn’t easy, but by pushing ourselves to be better everyday we were able to overcome those challenges.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the most exciting and fun places to check out are: – LACMA’s urban lights – The Broad museum – The pier at Santa Monica – Venice Beach & Venice Canals – Griffith Observatory
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to Seta Gulesserian, Aaron Kahn, Gabe De La Parra, Arran Alps, and everyone else who has motivated me to follow my dreams. I would also like to thank my friend Patrick Petrossian and the amazing team at Drones N Hobbies in Monrovia, CA for helping build some amazing drones along the way.
