We had the good fortune of connecting with Growth & Maintenance and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Growth, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habit that helped the brand succeed so far is belief. You can never get to somewhere you’ve never been without belief that you can get there. Belief helped us to get to where we are, and belief will help us get to where we intend to be. I think the other habits are a byproduct of belief. For example, some might say consistency or dedication. But you can only be consistent and dedicated if you believe in what you’re doing and in the greater purpose that it serves. Belief.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what makes growth & maintenance significant is the brand’s underlying message and story. We’re not where we intend to be yet, but if you understand our story, you understand we’re far from where we started. And in that simple statement you can understand what Growth & Maintenance means. In the steps you take forward towards growth, if you’re willing to maintain them, and to then continue to move forward, you can really get somewhere. We do our best to tell that message & our story in our art. We believe it’s what makes our designs not just different but important, because of the impact it can leave on someone.

Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about.
I’m most energized about changing the narrative. I think through building this brand it changes the narrative for the communities I’m from and I’m a part of. I feel that the narrative we’ve set sometimes limits ourselves and the gift we have in each of us. I want Growth & Maintenance to be able to change the narrative and to stretch the boundaries. In those efforts I think it can serve as inspiration to others to do the same in their own respective paths.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I thank God for giving me health and strength to pursue my vision. I thank my parents for working hard and giving me the opportunity to grow up in a country with more opportunities than they had. I thank my family, friends, & brethren that always have always had pure intentions and are in my best interest. Much appreciation to anyone that supports Growth & Maintenance & the vision of it. Also much appreciation to anyone that doesn’t feel like they fit those categories but have always shown love. Life is a team effort whether you like to acknowledge it or not, I can say the brand wouldn’t be in this position without the help of others.
