We had the good fortune of connecting with Hanna Denison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hanna, what inspires you?
Thank you for having me. I am inspired by the continuous generosity and enchantment of the natural world and so grateful for the wisdom it delivers around this complex human experience. If you are looking for truth, trust or solace, go outside.

I believe the deeper we connect and relate to our natural environment the clearer we can be on what balance is and feels like. Nothing in nature happens quickly. There is a natural current and flow to this planet. When we align to this rhythm our lives become more effortless and we can let the beauty unfold, just like a Rose blooms.
We can stop swimming upstream and trust that death is part of life and that seasons change. Some days are windy and tear our leaves up, some days are clear blue skies with golden sunshine. Flowers start as seeds and they don’t all bloom at once.

The current energetics of the world are extremely dis-regulating to our nervous systems and do not support us. We have a synthetic program running here on Earth that tries to control this natural rhythm. One that interrupts the balance of our natural ecosystem, one where everyone thrives.
This old program feeds on scarcity and greed and is a mindset written deep inside our bones that sets the pace for the “rat race” here on Earth. It is unnatural and requires a state of force.
I believe this disconnection from our natural world and its tempo, is the root of so much of the pain, suffering, and sickness we are living through.

The Earth is our direct reflection and we are part of this ecosystem. Nature brings us back into flow. That doesn’t mean there won’t be hard days but when in this rhythm, how we live through those hard days changes.  We can observe single plants or our environment as a whole to start to tune into the inherent program of the universe.

When we live in this awareness and acceptance of the natural cycles, we learn how to fill in our cracks when we fall out of balance and lean into each moment rather than resist.

I am inspired by this rhythm and the empowerment that comes when living in alignment with it.

This lights me up. I believe this knowledge is everyone’s birthright and is extremely important right now and what I hope to share with you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Sure. One of my friends calls me a flexible creative. I like this description because as long as I am creating, no matter what it is, that’s when I’m flowing in my power.

Right now my craft has expanded into visual design. I help spirited female entrepreneurs express their brands through unique, intuitive graphics and short form video. I am also founder of wellness brand, Brushfire Herbals where I craft high vibe self-care botanicals and custom potions.

I’m a Folk Herbalist, Gem Essence Practitioner, gardener, designer and over all wild woman, obsessed with plants and here to help you shine.

I empower your highest expression through visuals and tools from the Earth and am a guide into the healing enchantment of the natural world. I believe self-care is world care and that when we take care of ourselves we take care of each other, which then radiates out and helps us take care of our planet.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
hmmm….

Coffee at Minotti’s.

Then I would most definitely take them golfing. I absolutely love golf and we are so lucky here in LA to have an amazing selection of public courses. The vibe is very welcoming and accessible.

I would bring them to Jackson Market to get a delicious deli style sandwich and maybe drive up to Topanga State Park to go for a hike.

A little shopping at the cutest bulk herb shop Wild Terra over on the east side…

Happy hour at The Penmar.

Get sandy over at the boardwalk and catch the sunset and dinner over at Casa Del Mar..?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost shout out to Mama Earth! Thank you for your continued teachings and inspiration.

Also endless gratitude to my personal network of friends, family, mentors and clients who have supported me along the way. There’s to many to choose just one! Every customer and teacher I’ve had has brought something magical into my life. The people around you really are everything.
Currently though I want to make a shout out to a friend and client Natalie Alderson. She is founder of Whole Witch Wellness where she empowers mystics through somatic healing and essential oils. This year I’ve had the honor or crafting graphics and video for her brand as well as a custom tea blend for one of her programs. Being able to work with her creativity in both of these ways has been a true gift. I believe her work is so needed right now and this type of collaboration lights me up. Definitely go check her out! I am blessed to have such amazing fellow creators, friends and family who have continued to encourage and believe in me as I’ve navigated this path.
