We had the good fortune of connecting with HANNAH band and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi HANNAH, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Taking care of yourself and those around you.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re just proud that we’ve made it this far. We’ve still got plenty of work to do as far as this band is concerned. Personally, I don’t think it’s been easy or ever will be. We’ve had to do many things out of our comfort zone but these experiences have taught us. Maybe people relate to that: Being Unapologetically Yourself. We’d like to think so. After all, shouldn’t it be about what we have in common rather than our differences?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, any of our cribs – Shawn’s and Madhav’s specifically: Oma’s House. But from there, we could walk to Los Toros and get crazy plastered. Maybe the Angel Brewery if we’re out in LA. We don’t really like going out too much but we’ll be fine where most people like to be. If you’re in Echo Park, do yourself a favor and visit the Burrito King. That place singlehandedly fed us while we were recording the album.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Really there are too many people to count. But first and foremost, we thank Daniel Alvarado for directing and producing all of our music videos/visuals. He is a blessing to us as well as Isabel Rist, Audine Cameron, and Jules Hooper. Isabel and Jules both have strong backgrounds in cinematography/photography in general. Audine has the eye for styling and excels at set/costume design. We also need to thank Tyler Hammond for covering on drums for us from time to time. Be sure to lookout for his various jazz/experimental outfits! Finally, we wanna shoutout Ellis Forman for producing/engineering all of our work thus far. He’ll stand in for drums as well but is also currently saving lo-fi through his work as “middleschool”.
