We had the pleasure of catching up with rising artist Hannah Griffiths, whose soulful sound and intentional artistry are quickly resonating with a growing audience. From her transatlantic upbringing to her evolving journey in the LA music scene, Griffiths opens up about the roots that shaped her, the message behind her music, and the deep connections that fuel her creative path.

Hi Hannah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?

Great question. I come from a large, musically-inclined family—three brothers and a home where creativity flowed freely. My dad plays piano by ear, one of my brothers is a drummer, and my youngest brother plays multiple instruments. Music wasn’t just encouraged—it was part of our everyday life. My parents were incredibly supportive, always creating space for us to express ourselves creatively.

When I was a baby, we moved from Northern California to a small village in southern England to be closer to my dad’s side of the family. Those early years in a tight-knit rural community—where horses passed by our home daily and family gatherings were frequent—grounded me in connection and simplicity. We eventually moved back to Southern California when I was five, settling in a beachside suburb of LA.

That transition—from England’s pastoral calm to LA’s vibrant, diverse energy—really shaped me. The natural beauty and strong family roots I experienced early on gave me stability. Meanwhile, growing up in LA immersed me in a world of cultural richness and creative opportunity that continues to challenge and expand my artistry. Both

environments taught me to stay anchored in who I am while embracing growth and experimentation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

At its core, my music lives at the intersection of softness and strength. I’m a singer, songwriter, and producer, and everything I create is driven by emotional authenticity and spiritual connection. I don’t make music to follow a formula—I create to connect.

My sound is soulful and feminine, often weaving in themes of healing, rebellion, and vulnerability. I want people to feel seen and understood when they listen. Every lyric, every visual element, every arrangement is deeply intentional. I’m proud of building not just the music, but a message—one that honors sensitivity as a strength.

If there’s one thing I’d want listeners to take away, it’s that my music is heart-led. It’s for the romantics, the deep feelers, the soft rebels. My journey is as much about reclaiming voice, worth, and creative freedom as it is about making songs.

If a friend visited you for a week in the South Bay, how would you show them around?

I’d blend a bit of everything—nature, creativity, music, good food, and meaningful connection. We’d start one day at the Manhattan Beach Pier, one of my favorite places to walk and talk with the ocean as our backdrop. Then we’d grab breakfast or lunch at Yellow Vase Café—it’s cozy with amazing pastries.

We’d spend a day appreciating LA’s cultural offerings — perhaps a visit to The Getty Museum in Malibu, take in a concert at SoFi Stadium, or visit the soulful and culturally rich Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles. We’d cap the day off with a trip to

Santa Monica Pier, to ride the Ferris wheel at sunset—it never fails to spark joy. I’d definitely plan a hike in Palos Verdes, where the views are breathtaking and the trails are perfect for recharging.

One night would be reserved for my local open mic—it’s always such a raw, creative space, whether you’re performing or just soaking it in. I’d want my friend to leave feeling inspired, connected, and reminded of how beautiful it is to slow down and just be.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

So many people. First and foremost, my parents—especially my mom, who’s cheered me on through every phase, and my dad, whose musical spirit helped ignite mine.

Their unwavering support, even when my dreams felt big or unconventional, has been everything.

I’m also grateful to the friends who’ve stood by me not just as an artist, but as a person. They remind me to live fully—not just create. Their belief in me, even in quiet or uncertain moments, helps keep me grounded.

To the mentors who’ve guided me with wisdom and integrity—thank you for modeling what it means to create from a place of honesty and soul. And to the

creative forces I call God—I trust that divine timing and grace have led me every step of the way.

Lastly, to everyone who listens, follows, comments, shares, and connects through my music—you are the reason this journey is so fulfilling. Thank you for making this space feel like a true community.
