We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Kling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, how do you think about risk?
Risk can be a scary thing, but it doesn’t have to be. Each time in my personal life or career when I have taken a risk, that’s when I was able to grow and reach a new level. It’s easy to stay stagnant because it’s comfortable and it’s something that you know and are familiar with. But a beautiful thing happens when you take a risk, good or bad. You grow, you learn and you essentially level up. Even if that risk doesn’t go as planned, you can always look back and see that if you hadn’t taken that risk you would have stayed in the same place that you were before. I took a big risk when I quit my corporate job earlier this year and decided to take on my business, Lovely Delites full time. I was absolutely scared and nervous. What if I failed, what if I couldn’t make it work? But what brought me to the the point of finally making the decision was looking at my quality of life that I had then, it wasn’t what I wanted for my future. So the risk outweighed my current situation, and a beautiful thing happened when I set I mind to something- I made it happen and it set me free.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my blog a little over three years ago as a hobbie/ creative outlet. I dreamed of it becoming my full time job. I saw other bloggers doing what I wanted to do full time but I knew it was going to take hard work and dedication. I was working full time, commuting to work over 1 hour each way. I would wake up early to make a recipe and I would rush home before work to make another recipe before the sun went down. I worked every single weekend, and I did this for 2 years with little to no time off. It was a hustle, I was tired, but I knew that if I kept going I would get there. I am very proud of the success that I’ve had because I have built my business from the ground up. I have made a lot of mistakes along the way, but i’ve learned from them and it has helped me grow. Earlier this year, I felt comfortable enough to quit my very secure, well paid corporate job to take on Lovely Delites full time. It was absolutely scary at first, but once I did it I was able to commit myself full time to my passion and I’ve seen so much growth since. I’ve never looked back and I have zero regrets! When you invest in yourself a beautiful thing happens. You only have one life, so choose what you want to do and spend your time achieving it. You’ll get there!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would show them around Uptown Whittier, which is where I currently reside. There are a ton of amazing food spots that are healthy, vegan, or just have a really cool ambiance. I’d also take them to Los Angeles and Hollywood to show them around, but from my personal experience, I have found that the mom and pop shops usually have the best food!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s so important to surround yourself with people that uplift and support you. Positive reinforcement and encouragement can go along way. When you’re consistently reminded of how much value you have, you become powerful. I’d like to thank my family, my boyfriend, my close friends, and of course my followers on social media- I wouldn’t be able to be living out my passion without any of you!
