We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayk Matsakyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hayk, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Scalp Micro Pigmentation is an innovative non-surgical way of fighting against hair loss both for men and women. And I am, as a business owner and SMP practitioner proudly offering this amazing solution to those who are suffering from hair loss and changing people’s lives by restoring their dream hairline and helping them to get their confidence back.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business name is Scalp Los Angeles. I started practicing Scalp Micro Pigmentation back in 2017, when I decided to do something about my hair loss. After having the treatment done on my scalp, and seeing the phenomenal results, I decided to help people get this amazing treatment themselves and forget about the hair loss once and for all.

Both male and female pattern hair loss, Alopecia, any unwanted scars on the head or hair transplant scars – SMP covers them all.

I’m a visual artist and graduated from the School of Fine Arts. I’ve been drawing and painting since I remember myself and it helped me a lot in learning this unique and new form of art called Scalp Micro Pigmentation.
I really enjoy working as a practitioner and honestly, I don’t even want to call it a job or business. It’s much more about creating, fun and helping people.

Of course it wasn’t easy when I first started, since not a lot of people knew about the treatment and those who actually heard about it were quite skeptical about it. But I love challenges and I knew that eventually this treatment is going to become one of the most popular solutions to fight the hair loss.

It took me years to get people’s trust as an SMP artist and to spread the word about this innovative technique as well as to learn and keep learning more about it even now after all these years.

The best part is that it’s permanent and it’s non-surgical. You basically get the results right away versus the hair transplant surgery where you have to wait about a year to see the results and keep taking medications for the period of time etc.

I would encourage everyone suffering from hair loss, to check out this amazing treatment just to balance out their options. They will be surprised how this could change their lives as it did mine.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is a diverse city. It has a lot of undiscovered places as well as some popular and interesting ones where we all like to go from time to time.

I personally like to hang out in the nature. Lakes in the morning and beaches at night are my favorite.

For a short visit to LA, I would recommend checking out some of the restaurants in Malibu, like Mastro’s Ocean Club and Moonshadows. The bars in LA are awesome too. Laurel Tavern and Black Market liquor are among my favorites in Studio City.

Another awesome place for a short stop is the Griffith Observatory. I like to hang out there from time to time, just to watch the stars and enjoy the city view.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s a series of events that brought me where I am now. It’s a long path where you meet a lot of people who guide, lead, teach, support and encourage you to do what you do now. My shoutout goes to all those people and to those events that eventually helped me get to where I am now.
