We had the good fortune of connecting with Hazel Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hazel, what’s your definition for success?
I define success as a mixture of purpose, impact, creation, and joy. If we care enough about our visions, no milestone will be the end. We will always be driven with the purpose to move farther and deeper into our craft. This means having an actual impact on the world around us, and being champions of a new world that is possible. Success to me is also a life filled with joy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a songwriter currently signed with Ultra Music Publishing. It has been a long journey getting to this point, and it’s incredible how much time goes into even understanding something as simple as crafting a great song. I am still on my journey to create magic and timeless music. I’m excited for my new music coming out soon, especially a remix to the song I made with Brazilian star Tassia Reis, “Passion Fruit”, remix by GOLDHOUSE coming March 5th. Also probably my favorite song of my career, “So Much Better” produced by Vaaal comes out April 2nd 🙂 It’s a tale as old as time, but truly never giving up has been such an important touchstone to me. Passion is everything to me, and music is one of my deepest passions in life, so I will always strive to get deeper into the craft.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I’m currently in Arizona for the pandemic, and I live in LA, but I’m from San Francisco. So let’s go with S.F. (Bay areaaaaa!!!) We would go for a sunset or night drive to treasure island, takeout from Limon or Cha Cha Cha, and a looong city walk from the Mission, through the Castro, to Downtown and to the Embarcadero waterfront 🙂
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my amazing music manager K8, who has a truly uplifting and determined mind set, I want to shout out Coco Peila, who always strives for a better world, and I want to shout out all of my incredible friends, family, and beloved community.
