We had the good fortune of connecting with IazY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi iazY, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I think for me, it really comes down to whether I still feel something when I’m creating. If I’m still passionate, still curious, still wanting to get better then I’m not ready to give up, even if the results aren’t showing yet. There have definitely been moments where I’ve felt stuck, especially watching people my age move forward in more traditional careers. It can make you question your timing and wonder if you’re behind. But I’ve realized that just because progress isn’t visible doesn’t mean it’s not happening. If I’m growing creatively, improving my craft, and still feeling that pull toward music, that means I’m still on the right path.
I think I’d only walk away if the passion wasn’t there anymore if I was doing it for ego or because I was scared to let go, instead of because I love it. As long as that fire is still there, I see the hard moments as part of the journey, not a reason to quit.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting out hasn’t been easy. I face the challenges of learning the craft, building an audience, and navigating an industry that’s competitive and fast-moving. But I’ve learned to stay persistent, keep experimenting, and trust my vision. Every small step teaches me something new about myself and my music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d take them to Crystal Cove walk the beach, watch the sunset, maybe freestyle some music or just hang and vibe. We’d hit local cafes and food spots, check out shop strips, thrift, and catch some live music or an open mic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my family as a whole for supporting a path that doesn’t always come with guarantees. Having people who trust you enough to let you chase something uncertain that’s a blessing.
If I ever make it to where I know I’m going, a huge part of that story belongs to my mom. She’s the foundation of my confidence and the reason I keep going.
