We had the good fortune of connecting with Lulu Olguin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lulu, how do you define success?
“Success” or being “successful “ for me is the satisfaction I feel when my work has paid off. Not focusing only in the material or the money, but focusing more on the experiences and achievements that have helped me grow personally and professionally and just doing something that I love and enjoy and having the opportunity to share it with others and being recognized by my art and designs its amazing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m so proud of how far Bandida Brand has become. That from a simple idea of making my own clothes to having the opportunity to collaborate with very talented artists in their music videos, album covers, and live performances for me it’s an honor and I’m so grateful for that.

It hasn’t been easy. Sometimes things don’t come out as I planned , I gotta work extra hours and sacrifice certain things to make other things happen and that’s okay! I love what I do!
I am so happy for everything I’ve accomplished and all the opportunities I have had and I can’t wait to do more collaborations!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Mexican food is my favorite so I will definitely take them to a Mexican restaurant or even better to eat some tacos, I love street tacos.
And for fun, I like hiking, biking, or going to the beach so maybe I will take them to Santa Monica Pier for a walk, or Manhattan Beach for a beach day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to all the artists, creators, designers, etc, that support and collaborate with me, as well as the people who share the same passion as me that help and inspire others with their great ideas and hard work. Let’s keep it going!
