We had the good fortune of connecting with Isa Murphy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

I feel that the key to my career path has been my uncompromising willingness to make the most of the opportunities that have come my way. The first such opportunity was working as a contract worker and host in a VIP lounge at LAX for Air New Zealand. It was there that I honed my skills for interacting with a professional clientele. Unfortunately, the financial compensation there was less than satisfactory, so I took a position as a receptionist/secretary in a high-end Beverly Hills salon whose customer-base included not only actors but individuals who had gained success and wealth as entrepreneurs. Some of the relationships I had with these people became more than cordial and turned into actual friendships. Among the rewards proffered by these friendships was that the understanding that their success was no mere accident, and I could see traits similar to theirs in myself—creative drive, a willingness to give my all and not assume limitations, and the desire to create a superior product that translates into success for those I serve.

Another major thread in the narrative of my career path was being a waitress in a Beverly Hills bar and restaurant, where my consistent performance as top-in-sales and reputation as a hard-working quick adaptor led to my early promotion to bartender. That, along with my bartending catering business, have given me the knowledge and experience for the entrepreneurial niche in which I now find myself as a social media marketer in the restaurant and bar business environment.

What should our readers know about your business?

As a niche marketing agent, I elevate your brand through content creation, brand awareness, and managing and engaging social media platforms.

As I have mentioned, I have gained expert knowledge working in the food and beverage industry, and the connections I have made are invaluable, and effective in doing cross promotional strategies tailored to this market. 

Social Media Marketing enables the most organic growth for your establishment. It’s the new “word of mouth,” the way we introduce your restaurant to the world!

My goal is to create a long-lasting business relationship with all of my clients.

I want to first get to know you (as a business owner), your vision, and your brand.

I am genuinely excited to see the growth of your business. 

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I would definitely take them for a cup of coffee in Beverly Hills—it’s great for people watching. Finding a great hiking trail to see the city skyline is always amazing. And finding a great area with a lot of character is also fun!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I’d first love to thank my friend, Christina Russo, for always collaborating with me on projects (she is an amazing photographer). There have been some strong women in my life who have either shown me or invited me to step unapologetically into my strength. My Mother, a hard-working woman and immigrant, showed me the meaning of tenacity, and my friend and Life Coach, Jaime Crawford, has done an incredible job in strengthening my entrepreneurial voice.

My Father has also played a key role. He has the mind of an inventor and values innovation as much as I do. We often bounce ideas off each other, and he is always candid, especially when presenting strong critiques. I also have been very fortunate to have a great group of friends who encourage me to shine.

There are so many more but not enough room!
