We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Cammarano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think you need to be prepared to take risks in life and in your career, whether in means practicing your craft, or being in a position that allows you to do so, but most importantly not being afraid of taking a chance to start a new venture, and new path if you feel that it will take you to better place. Sometimes that means quitting a steady job, investing time and money on something new.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Music Producer, Composer and Engineer based in Los Angeles. I Co-Own a music production and music licensing company called MusicMind Group, along my business partner, composer and friend Elik Alvarez. I write music, record and mix for film and tv.

I started my career in music playing in rock bands in Venezuela, where I am originally from, really quick realizing I wanted to have a career in music. After high school I moved to the US and attended Berklee College of Music, in Boston, with the help of a partial scholarship and graduating with honors. After graduating I moved to Miami, where I worked with a few Pop Latin Artist such as Ricky Martin and Shakira, after 4 years, I moved to Los Angeles, were parallel to music I stared working on location sound, sound supervising for several successful reality shows such as Vanderpump Rules and LA INK. This experience gave me the opportunity of working along many producers and post supervisors from the shows I was doing, which gave us the opportunity to start writing music for those TV shows.

This business / career is quite challenging, it has its ups and downs, it took a lot of persistence and work to be able to be where we are today. I am proud to say that we have a thriving company, with many great projects, great team and clients which we are really proud off. The most important lesson I’ve learned is to never give up and work really hard for what you want in live.

I would like share with everyone the company I created with my business partner Elik Alvarez and our team and MusicMind Group, 10 years ago, and welcome everyone to visit our website and listen to our music and www.musicmindgroup,com

We love bringing all the projects we work on to life with all the music we write every single time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend or family would come and visit me for a week, hopefully it was during summer, to experience LA with the best weather, so I could take him to the beach or to some of the mountains to hike or even possibly camp. I would take him to Malibu or Manhattan beach for one afternoon to surf, another afternoon I would take them to “belmont shore” to check out Kite Surfing, which I do quite often. I would take him to see a live rock music show called “Sound Check Live” where many rock session musicians get together once a month and jam together to a music theme that changes everytime. I would give them a tour to some of the great Taco trucks in town, including Leo’s tacos in Hollywood and let them try the “Al Pastor Taco”.

I would show them the city, drive from Pasadena (where I live) to downtown all the way to the Palisades, thru Hollywood, West Hollywood, Westwood al the way to the PCH and possibly take them to the Getty Museum.

I would keep visiting some other spots in town to catch some more live music and good drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my parents and my family. They always believed in my passion for music and supported me through both the great times and difficult times I have experienced in my career.
