Meet Iverson Smith | Basketball Student Athlete

We had the good fortune of connecting with Iverson Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iverson, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Pursuing my goals & going through the process of getting them done by determination as well as diligence.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Varsity basketball student athlete playing for Rancho Dominguez High School. What sets me apart from others is my resilience & my ability to never give up no matter what obstacles are placed in front of me.. I am most proud of how far I have come, from being an indecisive freshman to now I am taking charge and full control of leading my senior year making an impact on my Varsity team. It wasn’t easy to get to this point in my journey. It took a lot of practicing at my local park, my school gym, long days of strength & conditioning training, as well as long nights at home doing personalized workouts. Throughout this journey I have learned to take advantage of every opportunity given and to seize the moment because nothing is promised. I want the world to know nothing was given to me, everything I received is earned through hard work and perseverance. My Brand represents a young kid who turned his hobby and something I did for fun into fulfilling my dreams as a young man going into college.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend visited me I would take my friend to Hermosa Beach. We would go swimming, surfing, bike riding, and go to the pier to play arcade games and eat great food. My favorite foods are burgers, fries, and seafood. The next day we would go to the Del Amo Fashion Center Mall to go to the movies & shop around to get new clothes as well as new sneakers. The following day we could go to Sky Zone which is trampoline park filled with games and basketball hoops we can dunk on,jumping as high as possible. The last day we can go to Disneyland and enjoy all the festivities at what is commonly known as the happiest place on earth!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give all credit 1st and foremost to God, My Mother and Father, and to all the non believers who doubt me. The doubt encourages me to go harder in all I do in my journey in life.
