We had the good fortune of connecting with Jac & Tina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jac & Tina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Our chemistry. We have been friends for a decade and our similarities has made it unbelievably easy to have a productive working relationship. In addition, our differences help fill in the blanks for what the other lacks. All of these elements has helped us work as cohesive unit. Since this business is one of various components we are juggling in our lives, we genuinely feel that if our chemistry was lacking, it would have been difficult to see a positive trajectory in our business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Balloon Ladies Co. Is unique in that we work with clients to create their vision from beginning to end. We push our creativity to be able to construct their ideas by adding unconventional elements to our balloon decor. We are extremely excited about the growth of our small business leading to new opportunities, which will allow us to continue to network with passionate like minded business owners. When the pandemic hit, we felt we needed some type of outlet for our emotions and we both relished in creativity, fashion, and colors. It was an easy decision to include this new start onto our already full plates since it provided us a means of creativity. Incorporating our business into our 9-5 job was challenging, however we have been able to do so by pushing time management as a priority. The most important lesson we’ve learned along the way is that no event is ever impossible and every event has only helped us grow in experience and confidence and we are so grateful for all of them. In a world that is so focused on the grind and hustle, don’t forget to celebrate even the little wins.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s nothing better than a morning working out to start our day. Our go to place to take a spin class is Moxi3 located in Costa Mesa. From the music, to the great energy, the most passionate instructors and good vibes there’s no place like this to break a sweat. Next, we would have to start our day with a delicious cup of coffee from one of our favorite places in Costa Mesa called Lion and Lamb Coffee Roasters. This hidden little gem has the most amazing coffee, our go to order is called “the usual” a combination made of iced chai and cold brew. Next up on our list is brunch at Nep cafe, a cute little Vietnamese fusion breakfast joint located in Fountain Valley. We recommend their iced egg coffee paired with their version of Bánh Mì Chảo, a traditional Vietnamese breakfast consisting of filet minon & eggs on a sizzling skillet with a side of fresh baguette bread. One of the great things about living in Southern California is being in close proximity to the beach. We love to gather our friends to meet up on the harbor in Newport to paddle board while soaking in the California sun & fresh ocean breeze with breathtaking views. It doesn’t get any better than that! All that physical activity can definitely work up an appetite. Nothing is more comforting than Shabu Shabu. Mokkoji Restaurant in Costa Mesa is one of our weekly must haves. Their flavored broths, dipping sauces, and quality sourced food just hits the spot every time. One thing is for sure, there is always room for dessert. Our favorite is grabbing a scoop (or two) of ice cream at Salt and Straw. They always have the best seasonal flavors that consist of unconventional ingredients that will definitely blow your mind. Last but not least, we would end the night with a few beers at Golden Road Brewery and if you’re still hungry don’t worry they have a large selection of food. We definitely appreciate their large selection for vegan options that are amazing. Vegan or not the avocado tacos are everything.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to dedicate our shoutout to our friends and family, who play a critical role in our story. Our friends and families have been a solid foundation for us providing support and guidance. They were our first clients and have been continuously spreading our business through their connections on social media.
