We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Tha Muscle Whisperer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After working in the physical therapy industry and I realized that most people didn’t want to heal their clients, they drag things out so they could treat them longer and make more money. I knew I could truly heal these people in way less time.
I also recognized that the spiritual component was lacking in the clinical atmosphere. And with so many people walking around carrying trauma, it felt weird to ignore that, especially since it’s a big part of chronic pain. I learned about bodywork through classes and conventions. I spent 2000 hours in massage therapy training. I became a trigger point therapist and gua sha master. I created my own way of combining all those methods into something unique physically and spiritually that resonates with me personally as well as my clients.
What should our readers know about your business?
My form of healing is unique. It was not easy operating outside of the status quo. I’m a single woman raising my son, I understanding how hard life can be. I heal with an intense spiritual experience that most people don’t understand. I want people to know that it’s ok to believe in yourself even when others don’t, and it’s ok, it’s ENCOURAGED to be your most authentic self because what makes you special is your gift to the world, Never hide it, because SOMEONE needs it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well seeing as though I don’t drink or hang out, that leaves food. I actually don’t like cushy, fancy places, I love unassuming places with really good food. I would suggest Asanebo Restaurant, I know the owner and LOVE the sushi. Also Pita Kitchen, they get so much of my money! As far as hanging out I would suggest staying with ME! I am a hoot, endless entertainment, and I will make sure you have fun!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My experiences. I’ve had so much trauma in my life, more abuse than one person should have to endure, and I’m 100% certain it was for me to go through and begin the journey of transmuting it so I can become the healer I am today. Dealing with, and releasing people’s trauma through massage and bodywork is not easy, it takes someone a little out there to hold it, hug it, and release it for people. I am that someone because God prepared me for it. That’s whom I want to give all the credit and recognition for my success.
