Hi Alani, how do you think about risk?
How I do feel about risk? Well for me risk can be something very amazing upfront or it can be something a little shaky at first but will eventually teach you something in the long run. For example, me starting my business at 16 with only $100 to my name was a big risk! But I DO NOT REGRET IT one bit because it taught me I can DO ANYTHING I want when I know I am dedicated to it! Risk isn’t always a “bad” thing or it’s not as bad as people paint it to be. Sometimes in order to grow in life you need to take risk!
What should our readers know about your business?
I started my brand Alani Allure Kollection in August of 2019. I started off selling my famous lip glosses then I transferred into adding accessories such as hair pins & necklaces. That was a good touch but it just wasn’t it! I didn’t know what else to add to spazz up my brand until December of 2020 when I finally relaunched into a full on beauty brand & lip care brand. I’ve always noticed that the most slept on care is Lip Care. We always see people talking about Body Care & Skin Care but not so much of lip care & we use our lips EVERYDAY, so after months of testing out formulas & making products to see what would be good for your lips I finally decided to start promoting how important lip care is & turn my business into a lip care brand. Then after a month of relaunching I wanted to see what else I love that I can bring to my brand then it all came to me “Eyeshadow Palettes” I always had a secret obsession with makeup palettes & just loved seeing other people do these amazing makeup looks! So I thought Hey! I can do that to but make my own as well. So as of now my brand is fully dedicated to being a Makeup + Lip care brand!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well here in the DMV my favorite place to go is to the museums in Washington DC
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without the support of my customers aka my #AKBeauties my business wouldn’t have been anywhere without them of course. Without them purchasing, following, referring me to a friend or family, ANYTHING I wouldn’t have made it to where I am now & I appreciate them so so much. I’d also like to shoutout my right hand man Tyler, he’s the person who seen my business grow the most & listen to ALL my problems & another big factor to why I started my brand, thanks to his motivation & support. Also, of course my family! Especially my sisters ! I love them so much & happy that I am making them proud!!
