We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacky Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacky, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my faith in God, I truly believe anything is possible. Success for me lies within the journey and as I keep evolving and growing my opinion on what that looks like will continue to change.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a always wearing a few hats. I launched my Iifestyle brand wrighteous™ in 2018, the creative process has been fulfilling to say the least. I have so many ideas I’m looking forward to executing, 2021 will be a year of expansion. One thing I truly enjoy is that those who support the brand can see the growth in real time. In 2020 I launched my branding, talent management and consulting company wrenaissance. As a talent manager and branding consultant, I currently work with an incredible R&B singer/songwriter (Kenyon Dixon) as well as an amazing actor, comedian and producer (Tone Bell). I’m excited about all of my endeavors but the one dearest to me is the upcoming TV crime-drama series at USA (Philly Reign) based on my mother Thelma Wright’s memoir “With Eyes From Both Sides: Living My Life In & Out of The Game”.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would go surfing in Malibu. Thrift shopping all over the city. Grab some ramen at Tatsu. WiJammin for lunch at some point. Definitely have to get a Po Boy from Orleans and York. Other than that we’d probably just be plotting on how we could get more businesses going in LA.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family for all of their love and support, they’ve watched me from the beginning of my journey so making them proud is the ultimate accomplishment. I’m also extremely grateful for my close friends and business colleagues, it really takes a village to be successful. I love each and every one of you.
