We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Herrera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
By the end of my career, I would love to still be running a small, boutique esthetician practice, helping others to achieve the confidence and knowledge I was not given until after my studies. I would love to expand my business into something more spiritual and nutrition-based, with my background of being a certified health coach. That way others can learn the importance of treating your mind and body with care to inturn have naturally glowing skin! I would also love to create a versatile skin oil that can be used within my practice, and sold in boutique retail stores, to help clients and others with home care and maintenance. This skin oil will be organic and something that a series of people can use to treat various different skin concerns.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is something that has been a dream of mine for years. I feel so honored to work with different people each day, helping them to achieve their best skin. Skin is such a sensitive and personal topic for so many people because it is truly a reflection of what is going on in your mind and body. I am the most excited each day to help as many people as I can, whether that be in person, via social media, or even on a phone call, finding your true purpose is the most rewarding feeling of all. My business and how I got here was not easy, I was always the person in school that never truly knew what they wanted to do. I went off to a four-year college and convinced myself I liked things that I actually didn’t truly enjoy. I was able to start really listening to my heart and write down a complete list of all the things that bring me sincere joy. That was helping others, the beauty industry, bettering myself, etc. After talking with some close friends, I saved up the money and went on to become an esthetician! I loved every moment of school and started fantasizing about my space, all the services I would offer, and how much I could help others. Within just a few short months, my schedule was booked and I was changing lives! The most amazing thing to come of my business is the power I have to truly make a difference in my client’s lives, I love being able to give others a moment in their busy lives to relax and refocus on themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting I would first take them to Beverly Hills to site see and show! One of my favorite restaurants in LA is Cross Roads, so I would definitely try to get a reservation there. Going to Urth Cafe for their boba green tea is an absolute must, and then we would probably cruise down to Santa Monica to visit the boardwalk.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All of my achievements I have had thus far wouldn’t be possible without the love, support, and mentorship of my amazing husband.
