Meet Jamaal White | Actor & Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamaal White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamaal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My Thought process behind starting my own business has been to supply the lack. To create and provide the space and opportunity for those that dream. I have seen too many tears fall for dreams deferred and wanted genie for those dreamers.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a creative longer than i can remember, however i always strive to find the joy in things and people. And i believe that is where i differ from most. I seek to create characters and stories that finds positive out of a negative and promote real life lessons across a wide emotional spectrum. I have recently partnered with a grass roots production company AAY (All About You) to facilitate these endeavors. And the ideas and events planned have me excited for 2025. Over the last 21 years i have constantly put pen to pad, stepped on every stage, took on exciting roles and studied some of the best in entertainment to understand what it takes to thrive in this arena. It has not been easy but learning through failure and rejection makes you wiser if your willing. I have a mantra that goes “i take lessons not losses”and it reminds me to gain something in all that i do. And if world can hear me let it be known that we are powerful. We need only pour into the world what we want out of it. They say one hand washes the other but together they wash the face. We are one body, one human race.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oooh Chris’s jazz café for live bands any night of the week.
Breakfast at green eggs Cafe any day.
Putt putt golf at liberty place any day.
Reef carribbean lounge on a Friday or Saturday for dinner and dancing.
Drag them to the gym with me to get swoll and relax in the hot tub. Maybe a trip to the stretch zone after.
Or if they are not from philly we will do the tourist stuff like our museums notable statutes and such. And even show them where to get a REAL cheesesteak from!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
