We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Lee Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie Lee, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my intuition. My intuition guides me in everything I do. If I feel called to do something or pulled in a direction, it is because I am supposed to do that thing or go that way. It keep me authentic. It keep me in alignment with myself and my values. And it always guides me in the direction of what is best for me. If something is not a “Hell Yes!” in my gut, then it’s not for me. Learning to trust my intuition and the nudges wasn’t necessarily easy, but once I did, it led me everywhere I was supposed to go.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is my baby! I am so proud of her! I am an Intuitive Life Coach and I help women all over the world become their best and highest selves. I teach anything from self-love, mindset, manifestation, and spirituality. Starting my business was scary! I’ve been a professional dancer most of my life (still am). About 10 years ago I started a personal healing journey. I was experiencing anxiety, depression, insecurities, and just an over all disconnection to myself. Along this journey I healed myself of a lot of trauma and gained so many tools that allowed me to know myself better. I know at a certain point that I would probably do something with these new tools at some point after dance, I just didn’t know exactly what that would look like. In 2020, I was booked to go on a world tour with Major Lazer, but then the pandemic happened. When the world shut down, so did my tour and dance in general. It was scary not knowing if and when dance would ever come back. I didn’t know how I would make money or who I was without dance. One day, I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Jamie…. ‘after dance’ is now!” So I pushed past the fear and stepped into my new endeavor and started my coaching business and life has never been the same!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love LA! There is so much beauty, so much to do and see. One of my favorite places to take friends that visit is Calamigo’s Ranch in Malibu! It’s a really cute outdoor restaurant. Family friendly with live music and games. You can bring blankets and picnic on the grass and it’s a vibe. I also love Malibu Farm. It’s a restaurant on t je pier in Malibu and the view is incredible. You definitely have to hit up a hike or two while in LA. I like Fryman Canyon. It’s lowkey and never too packed. If I’m feeling boujie I will definitely hit up Nobu Malibu or Catch LA for dinner. The food at both of those are to die for. One of my favorite things to do in LA are movies at the park. You bring blankets and snack and watch a movie on a giant screen outdoor. There’s food truck and live music. You can do that at Street Food Cinema, or if you’re brave, Cinespia does movies at the Hollywood
forever cemetery! It’s definitely an experience. If you have time while in LA, Disneyland and Universal Studios are always a good time!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve bad so many people along my journey that have attributed to my success, but I mostly want to thank my family and friends for their support. They’ve always believe I could do anything I wanted and that support gave me fuel to go after every and any dream I’ve had.
