We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephy Perea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephy, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always had a thing for color, design and the art of creating. I was that one nerdy gal who would take pictures on field trips since elementary school. At the age of 10 I was gifted my first digital camera from my parents. It was a cheesy 2-megapixel camera but I didn’t care. My favorite part as a Photographer and Art director is the people I meet and create memories with. I met some of my close friends through working together in photoshoots.
Creating and having fun and getting paid for it umm sign me up! … Also seeing the results of your hard work is so rewarding. The reactions and messages I get from people when they are satisfied with their images brings me joy and love that through my passion it brings other humans joy 🙂

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a creative I love the people that I meet and the places that I get to travel to!

Of course all of that didn’t come just easily, I had to and still working hard for it lol. When I was in Art School I was doing different photoshoots while I was a student. I would take advantage of the projects my professors would assign me and would treat it as if it was a real job and contacted modeling agencies and worked with models.
I then expanded my contacts by meeting other people at parties and or instagram DMs and started working with makeup artists and stylists in my projects … ALL while I was still an art student.

Thanks to that I ended up graduating with quality work and portfolio and hoped into my first “job” with Quiksilver and then ended up gradually progressing with other companies.

The sky is limit. My newest project is starting my Own Clothing Brand called Étoile Los Angeles. (@etoilelosangeles)
Étoile means star in French 😉 I love the meaning of star due to the message I want to spread that everyone is a star. In outer space there is not one star that is exactly the same and thats what makes it amazing. Every human being is unique and different and that bring out the beauty in this humanity in this world.
This is one project Im so excited for, and I’ve been dreaming for my own clothing brand since I was little, and its actually happening!

Getting to where I am is still not easy and I still don’t consider that I’m not fully there yet, but persistency is the key. There will always be challenges, but keep your focus on your goal and your why.

I want people to know that whatever you have in your heart and desire to do … do it!!!
its so worth it, I promise.

An everyone is a Star! 🤩

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
