Meet Jay Alexis | Producer, Recording Artist, Model, Publicist, Fashion Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Alexis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As an artist, I truly can’t imagine doing anything other than creating. Whether it was during my time as a Fashion Publicist—where I curated everything from Fashion Week runway shows to exclusive VIP parties and brand launches—or now, as I step into the world of music, creativity has always been at the core of who I am.
Music has long been a part of my life, but for years, I held myself back—telling myself I wasn’t musically talented enough, too afraid to take the risk. That changed when I moved to West Hollywood. Over the past few years, I’ve started embracing this new chapter with open arms. I’ve been writing songs for as long as I can remember, but recently I took a leap: diving into vocal lessons, learning beat-making and music production, and truly immersing myself in the craft.
This debut project is deeply personal. Of course, I hope it resonates with others—I hope people listen, connect, and dance—but this journey has been about so much more than that. Creating music has helped me process some of the most beautiful and painful moments in my life. It’s been my anchor, my therapy, and my way of telling the truth.
So I decided to stop letting fear win. I showed up for myself. I took the risk. And I’m so glad I did.
My debut single, “Voice of the Dance Floor,” drops this Friday, June 27th—just in time for NYC Pride weekend. I chose this moment intentionally. With everything happening in the world right now—especially the continued attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community—I felt a deep responsibility to use my voice, my story, and my sound.
Timing is everything when you’re an artist, and this just felt right. The universe gave me the green light.
And now, it’s time to turn the volume up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My debut single, “Voice of the Dance Floor,” drops this Friday, June 27, 2025—and I couldn’t be more proud. This is the first track I’ve fully written, produced, and recorded myself. It’s more than just a song to me—it’s a statement.
“Voice of the Dance Floor” is about confidence, self-worth, and thriving under pressure. It’s about showing up, standing tall, and refusing to dim your light—especially when the world wants you to.
That message felt especially important right now. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’ve been deeply moved—and angered—by the political and cultural challenges we’ve faced recently. But one thing I’ve always admired about our community is our resilience. Time and time again, we rise. We show up for each other, and we keep dancing, no matter what.
I’m endlessly grateful to be surrounded by the most inspiring group of friends and chosen family—queer, gay, lesbian, non-binary—who motivate me every single day. Their strength is reflected in this song.
I made this track for the dance floor, but more importantly, I made it for us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, The Ivy is still one of my all-time favorite spots in LA. It’s just so iconic and effortlessly photogenic — to me, it represents the spirit of classic Hollywood glamour. The atmosphere is unmatched, and the Lobster Eggs Benedict? Absolutely to die for.
When it comes to shopping, Melrose is my go-to. I love starting at The Row, then hitting Bottega Veneta, Vivienne Westwood, Rick Owens, and of course, a stop at Wasteland for those unexpected vintage finds. If you keep cruising down Beverly Boulevard, you’ll land right at The Beverly Center for even more luxe options — it’s the perfect full-day fashion excursion.
For a little self-care moment, I swear by a glam session or massage at The Now. It’s a total reset.
And to top it all off? Cocktails and a late night out at Delilah or dancing in WeHo’s BoysTown — there’s just nothing like it. I am a New Yorker through and through, but ever since I moved to West Hollywood a couple of years ago I have continue to grow to love LA more and more.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family means everything to me. Their unwavering support and belief in me have been the foundation of my journey, both as an artist and as a human being. No matter what path I’ve chosen—whether it was in fashion, music, or anything in between—they’ve always seen and valued my creative spirit, and that kind of understanding is something I’ll never take for granted.
Their love is what fuels me. It pushes me to dream bigger, to work harder, and to become the best version of myself. I owe so much of my drive and discipline to them.
My father is a self-made entrepreneur and the owner of Metfab Metals, LLC, one of the leading steel fabrication companies in the tri-state area. My mother is the Senior Executive Director of Qualify at Montefiore Medical Center, one of New York’s most respected healthcare institutions. I’ve always looked up to both of them—not just for their success, but for the integrity and passion they bring to everything they do.
They continue to inspire me every day with their wisdom, advice, and encouragement. I feel incredibly lucky to have such a strong, supportive family behind me. Their belief in me has helped me believe in myself—and for that, I’m forever grateful.
