We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaz Gosal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaz, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
No risk, no reward. Nothing in life comes from remaining in your comfort zone. The ultimate question is, are you willing to take the necessary risk to propel your life/business forward with absolutely no guarantee that things are going to work out?
Starting my Real Estate business has been the biggest risk I’ve taken in life thus far. I started with no handouts, no connections, no favors. All I had was my dream – the unwavering desire to help people live better lives.
That one leap of faith, that one risk has allowed me to join people on their journeys as they make the biggest purchase of their lives. My own life has been enriched meeting people from different backgrounds and different walks of life. Helping people find a favorable solution to a problem gives me the ultimate sense of fulfillment.
This path has truly made me realize what my purpose in life is. I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking risks.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The most exciting part of my business is helping people achieve a goal and turning their dreams of homeownership into a reality. Getting to where I am today in my business was everything, but easy. I overcame the challenges by trusting the process and not comparing my journey to everybody else’s. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are: nothing worth having comes easy. Everyone’s timing is different, you can’t compare your chapter 1 to someone’s chapter 10. Success looks different for everyone and your definition of success doesn’t have to align with society’s view i.e. how much money you make, what you own, etc.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My itinerary for anyone visiting LA would be the following:
– Visting Venice or Santa Monica Beach
– Checking out the amazing views at Griffith Observatory
– Dining at one of LA’s hottest restaurants: Beauty & Essex, Tao, Barton G, Catch
– Having drinks at Perch, 71 Above, Spire 73
– Visiting a very “Instagrammable” museum, LA literally has a museum for everything
– Shopping at Rodeo Drive
– Connecting with promoters to get guest list for mansion parties
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My faith is the ultimate reason why I have had the courage to pursue my dream and what keeps me going.
