We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzman Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazzman, how do you think about risk?
I do not think one should take RISK but instead one should take a LEAP OF FAITH. To take a risk is to be totally unprepared for the act and to compromise ones morals. To take a leap of faith is following something all the way to the end even when it seems impossible.
For example with my experience, at the age of 16 I made up my mind , my home town had nothing left for me . I had gracefully dominated and accomplished everything that could be done in the modeling world in the state of Texas.
I decided one day while at work in order for me to continue my dream career I had to move , somewhere that in bodied my passion and purpose. So I told my mom “I’m going to California with or without you.” Thank God for my mother, we sold what we could and packed our clothes into the car and my mom drove 22hrs straight no sleep to get me to the place where I could have new found success.
We did not know a soul coming to California, we did not know where we would stay, but one thing we knew For sure was that God would provide. (Which is what classified this decision as a leap of faith not a risk. )So we stepped out on a wing and a prayer because we knew exactly what we where coming to do . And we seen the bigger picture, we are no stranger to hard work. My mother and I took a LEAP OF FAITH, and a well choice indeed !
I dove into the modeling world of California at the age of 16 well seasoned and I was blessed to be in every fashion week in LA and some in New York. Noted I ran into some hurtful moments, almost brought me to tears but I am also blessed to have acquired relationships with beautiful designers with beautiful vision who call me now to help bring their visions alive.
So in conclusion a risk is for those with no game plan , but a leap of faith stands for those in home stretch of their goals. Pursuing a dream is a never ending marathon. Which consist of constant growth one of the keys to life.
All glory to God for the gift and direction.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In between my life of a supermodel I am a college student. I major in Biochemistry. With that I plan on being a pediatric doctor.
My second passion is helping others . I absolutely love kids and babies and what better way to combine the two then being a kid doctor!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop the Getty museum, then Santa Monica pier , then malibu beach , we would have to eat at Toastbakery on 3rd street .
Oh my absolute favorite place universal studios. Take a drive down the PCH to wind down. Then book a hotel room at the best hotel in Cali the Georgian hotel!
