We had the good fortune of connecting with Jearnest Corchado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jearnest, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I think having a positive mindset is key to succeed. It has always been really important for me to first be aligned with myself, be happy and at peace internally. I started to create habits that could keep me balanced while going to college, auditioning, working on set and everything that comes with the acting world. I would go to yoga, exercise, run, create a vision board and prioritize what was important in the next week/month/years to come. Making a list of goals has probably been the most essential habit. It works!!! I think I’ve accomplished every single one of the “dreams & goals” I’ve written down. And being disciplined! Anytime I got an audition or opportunity sent my way I said “YES!” And I failed many times, but I would clean my “tears” and keep going ! You always have to KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been an actress my whole life. I knew I wanted to be a movie star in Hollywood since I was probably 8 years old. I wanted to act, sing, travel the world, be on movie sets, inspire people, and change lives. I’ve always felt as if my biggest purpose was to motivate others to dream big… to have hope. My career hasn’t been easy, it’s a career where we are consistently getting rejected, but I realized early on that it wasn’t about getting to the top of the mountain. It was all about the climb.. the journey. It’s about enjoying the process. That’s why I also created “ #thejearney” … I want people to follow my journey. To know that it is not about the successes alone! That failure is so important too. Failing is part of the process, it is what will eventually make you a better artist, and a stronger, wiser human being. We should all “Enjoy the journey!”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her everywhere !!! Lol I would take her to the hidden gems like Cafe Jane in Highland Park, Go for a drink in Old Town Pasadena, I would drive her through Mulholland Drive, take her hiking to every trail with the wonderful Hollywood view, shopping at the Grove, and later to Beverly Hills so she can feel like a star haha! I would definitely take her to Venice & Santa Monica too! I LOVE the pier! I feel like every corner of LA is magical in its own way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Too many people have been wonderful mentors throughout my life. The list is too long! First and foremost, my parents. My parents have sacrificed so much for me and have always supported me in everything I do. They are my #1 fans and I owe most of my success to them. They allowed me to dream big and taught me that the sky was the limit! I also owe so much to my manager Dolores Cantu. She has truly been the most wonderful mentor and manager a girl could wish for. She has believed in me from day one. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. She inspires me every single day, she is truly the CAN DO IT ALL spirit behind my success.
