We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaynler Joie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chaynler, how do you define success?
It’s such a divine ‘coincidence’ that this question has presented itself to me now. Quite recently, while driving alone on a road trip, I had to really ask myself this question and figure out what that answer is for ME specifically — because there’s no general definitive answer. And we’re all so bombarded with these different perspectives + projections of ‘success’ that may not necessarily fit our narrative and life journey. It all depends on one’s priorities and what is the most heart-centered + grounding + fulfilling experience for them. For me — BEING HAPPY, SELF AWARE, AUTHENTIC. KIND. Cultivating your FLOW. Living through love of self and others — and not even to sound corny or anything — that sh** REALLY MATTERS. But for more ‘on the surface’ level- Freedom. Whether that’s spiritually or financially. Freedom in ALL SPECTRUMS. For Chaynler Joie, success is living + flowing completely in my purpose, my role — fully utilizing the set of skills, talents, gifts that are within me naturally, that I’ve simultaneously worked extremely hard to build, nourish, and enhance in my 10 year career as a professional singer/creatress. The ultimate goal is to be able to allow my music + artistry to be the head source of all other endeavors; creating an ever evolving Flow in all aspects of my life from spiritual to financial. EVERYTHING that I do (from my music to my Sound Therapy & wellness business) must derive from authenticity. When I am not in alignment with my gifts, that also are a service, that’s when I feel unsuccessful. I’m on the journey of creating that integration of living in my purpose, financial freedom, being of service, advocating for wellness, supplying quality content/product, while staying authentic and just being a damn good person!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a self-proclaimed CREATRESS; a multifaceted woman of many gifts, with creativity and honest expression being the core of them all. As a Louisiana native with a music-based upbringing, my love for music and the eagerness to develop my voice and songwriting started innately at a tender age, and still grows today. As a result of getting my start in the industry as a background vocalist, I have worked for many well-known artists, singing and performing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Voice, NPR’s Tiny Desk, Black Girls Rock , the IHeart Radio Music Awards, and Kanye West’s Sunday Services. In reference to the ‘Chaynler Joie flow’ artistry in its entirety; it is rooted in authenticity, adaptability, and honest expression — with a heavy emphasis on vocal aesthetic, range, and diversity. In addition to my career as an independent artist, I have a wellness business, the Flow Cultivation brand — where I facilitate sound therapy sessions utilizing crystal + Tibetan singing bowls, and distribute handcrafted candles and ethically sourced Palo Santo. I am immensely excited about 2021, as I’ll be dropping an incredible amount of new content! I’ll be going live via my Instagram (@chaynlerjoie) every Sunday starting in the new year sharing new music & visuals, engaging with my supporters! Come vibe with me
