We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Campos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Always keep the end goal in mind. Crafting something beautiful is a means of spreading positivity in the world. With a dose of optimism, it conveys a simple message: life has value. My aim was to develop something genuine, starting from nothing, witnessing its growth, while enriching people’s lives.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Transitioning careers presents a formidable challenge, yet it has been a profoundly enlightening journey for me. With a background in dance, I have pivoted towards a new path as an holistic skin therapist. Throughout history, beauty standards have consistently evolved, influenced by societal trends. I feel the media plays a role in shaping self-esteem and self-perception. Negative associations are sometimes attached to specific beauty trends for women, leading many to lose touch with their authentic selves in an attempt to conform. By dedicating myself to this field, I strive to help individuals in discovering their genuine inner beauty. Embracing a natural appearance is more than enough! I want to empower people to embrace their skin. Fueled by purpose and fostering connections, Nothing is more fulfilling than exceeding clients’ expectations. The commitment and fervor honed through dance now radiate in the beauty domain. “The face serves as my stage, and my hands act as my feet.” Whether elevating self-assurance or helping in achieving skincare goals, the beauty industry has proven emotionally enriching. My most lesson learned through this journey has been to always deliver authenticity and with a passionate approach because when you do, it truly resonates positively. My facials are designed not only for results, but also to offer a luxurious and serene spa-like experience. My services are rooted to the science of healing, wellness, and the mind-body connection. I specialize in handling skin types such as acne, dry, oily, combo and normal, utilizing non-invasive methods like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, high frequency, LED light therapy, microcurrent, ultrasonic, lymphatic drainage and massage techniques.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With an old soul and being a Hollywood native, I gravitate towards local spots where the energy feels nostalgic. A beach day is always a good idea, Griffith Observatory, The Magic Castle, La Descarga, to name a few. But every true native knows how to keep our true gems in our pockets.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This skin journey wouldn’t have been as impactful without the invaluable guidance I’ve received. My mother, who has always been my biggest supporter, has instilled in me exceptional strength, determination, and selfless spirit, shaping the values and principles I now hold dear. My mentor, Brandi J Andrews, who encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and has been a guiding beacon throughout my career. Holly Edgin, spa director at the Spa Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel, who gave me my initial role as an esthetician. The complexion community, guided by Jadé Marie, who’s provided such a nurturing and encouraging network for estheticians. Lastly, my friends and family who are always there for me, providing endless hope and support.
