We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer LaGrow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We wanted to do something on our own that we were passionate about and felt confident that we would be successful. Being very passionate tailgaters ourselves, we saw a need in the industry to help support other football fans with setting up their own tailgates.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I spent the majority of my professional career working in finance and sales at several global organizations, including The Walt Disney Company, moving up the ranks as I went. I learned so much from this experience about how to be detail oriented, how to interact successfully with people, how to manage employees, time management skills, communications skills, and how to manage finances. What I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to utilize and leverage all the skills to start and manage my own business. Something I didn’t set out to do originally but when the opportunity presented itself, felt confident enough to jump on it. Something that is pretty much bred into you when you work at Disney is the importance in quality of the brand, and that is a concept that was brought into Tailgater Concierge. We want to provide the best service that we can for our customers doing whatever it takes to provide them with the most amazing experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With Los Angeles being such a spread out city, I’d create an itinerary based on areas – Santa Monica/Venice – you can’t beat a day at the beach taking in the rays and enjoying the people watching along the Venice Boardwalk Hollywood – of course everyone wants to see the handprints in the sidewalk, the famous Mann’s Chinese Theater and Hollywood and Highland, maybe a drink at the famous Chateau Marmont Beverly Hills – a walk down Rodeo is always a must, a stop by the Beverly Hills Hotel, a wine and cheese lunch at Wally’s, and some star gazing with a drive up into the hills to check out the amazing mansions Universal/Disney – have to hit a theme park during the visit, both are great Downtown LA – at one point, no one would think about taking time to hang out down LA, but lots has changed. You can see who is playing at the Staples center and take in a game, explore the various food options at Grand Central Market, marvel at the architecture of the Disney Concert Hall, end the day with sushi in Little Tokyo Griffith Park – tons of options here to take up a day, you can go to the zoo, up to the Observatory, hike one of the many trails and enjoy a 360 view of Los Angeles and the Valley

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge Shoutout to my husband Mitch. He has been so supportive since we started this business and is willing to do whatever we need to help us be successful. He’ll be up at the crack of dawn helping with set-up, making sure all the televisions are working, picking up trash, running any errands we need, and all with a smile on his face. We couldn’t do this without him.
