Meet Jennifer Moore: Yoga Guide & Small Business Solopreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There wasn’t much of a thought process! I’ve been a yoga guide in Santa Monica for the better part of 2 decades working for studios and private clients. One day in March 2020 I guided 4 yoga sessions and the following day a pandemic shut the city down. I watched a couple of fellow instructors pivot immediately and begin online offerings. Several studio clients were asking me “When will YOU offer online yoga?” For a week, I tossed the idea around in my head without confidence that I could actually pull it off. I decided to take one small step in that direction. True to my studious nature, I spent a week on Zoom immersed in tutorials and then dove in head first. So there wasn’t much of a thought process. I was reacting to the drastic change in my circumstances, finding a way to live while still working with my passion, and creating a solution for clients. Breathe Moore LIVE Yoga started as donation based online yoga classes and has evolved to be a membership based small business S Corp. in the span of less than a year. It’s been a joyful journey creating a business which brings health, wellness, and smiles to members.
What should our readers know about your business?
Breathe Moore LIVE Yoga is a boutique online yoga studio delivering fun, active, soulful yoga classes to members-LIVE Zoom classes, REPLAY videos available on demand, and private at-home yoga sessions.
What sets us apart from other yoga studios? First, a super simple online user experience. Classes are accessed with 1 or 2 clicks. Second, I created a boutique yoga studio to facilitate connection with Members when they are open to it. I love calling Members to learn about their yoga experience, get feedback, and hear about their lives. It is my mission to reply right away when a question comes my way and the best business ideas come from Members. Third, I craft every class to be fun and inspiring. Sequences are fresh and challenging. Many classes have a themed playlist curated to move you through the poses with motivation and smiles.
I am excited to share this brand with people anywhere! You no longer have to live in Santa Monica to experience Breathe Moore LIVE Yoga classes any time of day or night.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Top LA jaunts…
Currently:
Hike at dawn in the Santa Monica Mountains with the dogs taking in the moon, the owl hoots, and the sun rise.
Spend the day at Escondido beach in Malibu with a picnic or lunch at the Malibu Pier. Maybe a kayak for two.
Take a leisurely stroll down Abbott Kinney in Venice browsing clothing shops, art and eateries.
Pre shutdown:
Definitely take a vigorous sweaty yoga class from any number of extraordinary LA instructors and then go to Erewhon Venice for green juice and delicious lunch.
An overnight or two in Santa Barbara (heaven on earth) for beach time, hikes, bicycling, and wine tasting.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father has been my greatest supporter. His enthusiasm has been uplifting during the growing pains and uncertain times. He has been a sounding board for my ideas, offered suggestions and solutions, proofread countless marketing emails, celebrated every win, and sent a positive text most every morning wishing me success and joy on my journey.
Jennifer Ginsberg, Cindy Feder, & Jason Netter all deserve a big shoutout as well. They were studio clients who strongly encouraged me to create an online yoga offering during the first weeks of the shutdown. Their encouragement and support were the first building blocks of Breathe Moore LIVE Yoga.
