We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Diem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
A lot of things make me happy. Ice cream, sloths, and hiking are some things that come to mind. Most importantly, my partner, family, and friends make me happy. They have always been super supportive of my goals and aspirations and they continue to encourage me through it all. In addition to those closest around me, I am the happiest when I am traveling with my partner, discovering and exploring new places, and capturing the beauty of the world through my lens. I have been to four continents and the ones I have left are Australia, Africa, and Antartica. If the conditions allow, my partner and I will be taking a cruise to Antartica at the end of this year which will be a huge accomplishment for me to take photos of the country for my landscape photography. One of my favorite parts about my photography is being able to showcase the places I have been to and inspire others to travel and experience this beautiful Earth. All of my adventures are in the pursuit of happiness but my secret is not in what makes me happy but what I make happy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Out of all of travels, I am most proud of my trip to Iceland. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I am incredibly excited about my next trip to Antartica. After that, I plan on going to Africa and Australia so I can finally accomplish having reached all seven continents. I have had so many amazing opportunities to travel and take photos of those destinations for my landscape photography. I love sharing my photos and inspiring others to get out there and travel and seek adventures of their own.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Most of my favorite spots in LA are food related. Fish and chips at Prince O’ Whales, Korean BBQ at Hae Jang Chon, al pastor tacos at Leo’s on La Brea, Clifton’s in DTLA, beer at Angels City and Arts District Brewery, and sunsets at El Matador Beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my partner, Carlo Sciortino. He has been a huge inspiration and motivator in my life. He encourages me everyday to work hard and keep reaching for my goals. He lifts me up whenever I am down and is there for me whenever I need him. I definitely owe him more than a little credit and recognition for my story.
