We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I got my first camera when I was 8 years old. It was a JVC S-VHS camera that my mom purchased for my dad for Father’s Day. My dad unwrapped the gift and I immediately commandeered the camera and took it outside to film stop motion videos with my Star Wars action figures. It was my first time editing as well. I would shoot a second of footage and use the VTR function to reduce the amount of frames for each shot and then cue the recorder to capture the next frame. I instantly fell in love with the entire process.

What should our readers know about your business?
JMaverick Studios produces branded and social media content. Our focus is preserving the authenticity of our client’s message and telling “the story behind the story.”

After listening to what our client’s needs are, we tailor a creative offering that helps elevate their brand. The focus of capturing the brand’s “why” makes their story relatable with viewers. People connect with people. Whether it’s their stories or experiences. We tell stories that stir conversation while holding the viewer’s attention.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Dolby Cinema at AMC Burbank 16 so you can experience Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Seats F13 and F14. Dead center in the story.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give my parents a shoutout. My dad for letting me take his Father’s Day present and my mom for introducing me to films at a very young age. I remember my family going to the movies and breaking down scenes on the car ride home. We’d talk about what made something effective in the overall story or what took away from the power of the message. Having deep conversations about story structure and technical accomplishments in films opened my eyes to effective storytelling.
