We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess McDonald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was experiencing unexplained infertility when trying for my first child and sought out Julia for energetic support. I think I was just hoping for some stress reduction or maybe I was willing to try anything because I had the feeling that nothing was working.

During that energy medicine session, we met the soul of my baby. It was a complete paradigm shift that opened up an entire awakening of consciousness. Creating a family was no longer about tracking ovulation or eating right, it was about this unspeakably powerful creative force, undeniably cosmic and spiritual dimensions, and power of relationship.

Emmy joined us for energetic support and doula work. The three of us had these mind-blowing experiences with my first and second child. We then began supporting other parents-to-be who were looking for a different experience of pregnancy and birth, meeting all these incredible incarnating souls along the way.

So, you could say the idea for this business found us. The Fertility Collective is absolutely its own consciousness and its wild to being doing work that not a single one of us imagined offering to the world in this lifetime. Its incredible.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think at this point everyone knows the medical system and birth industry are broken. We have, as a society, forgotten so many of the ancient practices and rituals that concern inviting a baby into the world. What The Fertility Collective does is bring the sacred back to conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum through really revolutionary forms of support and care. No one is going to fix these systems for us, we have to make these changes for ourselves within community and transformative care.

What myself and my Co-Founders are most excited about is how life-changing this work is for parents-to-be. The implications of this support are astonishing. Having a real relationship with the Soul of your child is how we shift generational consciousness.

The path of The Fertility Collective actually mirrors a fertility journey. The idea was conceived in love and abundance and we have supported the growth of this business the same way we have tended to pregnancies and births. We only work in ways that feel supported, easy, and aligned with what this business wants to be. The Fertility Collective is its own consciousness and we just tend to it and trust it.

I think what we want the world to know about our story is that this care is available to everyone. If you are planning to have a child, planning to birth a creative idea, or honoring a loss- this is all fertility. We have mapped out offerings that are practical and magical to support people on these journeys.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a pretty specific itinerary- basically a fertility trip. Here are some spots that have been special to us and some of the spirit babies we have supported:

House of Intuition – Long Beach

South Coast Botanic Garden

Wild Terra Apothecary

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Julia Albain and Emmy Amash are The Fertility Collective Co-Founders. These women are the heart and spirit of what we offer to the world. I was supported through multiple pregnancy and postpartum journeys by their web of care, which included energy medicine, BodyTalk, energetic doula care, and herbalism. Julia and Emmy are people who helped me see that creating a family could be a multidimensional and transformative experience that restored soul to perinatal and postpartum care. There would be no Fertility Collective without their incredible magic.
