We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessenia Galvan-Lloyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessenia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business was built with service in mind. I finished my yoga teacher training a few months before Covid hit and the lockdown started. I knew I needed to do something to share yoga with my community because it was and continues to be SUCH an important practice that helps me navigate the highs and lows of life and my mental health. So I started offering donation based yoga classes on Zoom weekly and the business has evolved from there. I trained to become a life coach for the same reason I went through yoga teacher training. I thought, “these tools are helping me so much, I need to share them with my community!” Everything I do in my business starts with the intention of serving my community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, JNGLSOUL, was born from my own healing and Self Love journey. I have healed so much of my own trauma. I have unlearned and learned what true Self Love means. I really felt called to share the tools that have changed my life and liberated me: yoga, meditation, and life coaching.

What sets me apart is “I have BEEN there.” My life once looked completely differently than it does now. I was struggling so much with my anger, anxiety and depression (what I now know is Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), I was a perfectionist, a people pleaser, my physical body was in so much discomfort and pain, and my unchecked toxic thoughts were completely running my life. That’s where I started but now I have experienced so much healing and post traumatic growth! I hope that my life experiences make my offerings so much more relatable because I have used these practices and they WORK! They have transformed my life from something I feel trapped by and helped me create a life that I feel deeply grateful for and excited about!

The thing I am most proud of is the growth that I see in my clients. Whether it is seeing my one-on-one yoga clients get stronger and more confident with each session or coaching clients breaking through the limiting beliefs that have held them back their entire life. Being apart of my clients’ growth is so deeply fulfilling to me. I am so grateful to do what I do and witness so much transformation within my clients!

This journey has not been easy by any stretch of the imagination. What keeps me moving forward is the though “it’s not about me.” I believe that I went though the things I did so I could heal and share those tools with my community. The idea of contributing to a better world always keeps me motivated! That has been my deepest desire since I was a little kid.

So many lessons needed to be learned for me to be where I am today. Lessons like: how to ask for help and knowing when to rest have been big learning curves for me. I have learned more and more over the years to ask for help when I need it (ha! always). That I’m not just here to serve but to be lifted up as well! I have learned to listen to the signals from my body when it’s time to stop working and time to rest. I have learned that taking care of myself allows me to serve my community even better.

I want the world to know “I AM HERE!” I am here to serve, I am here to help my clients love the truest version of themselves. I want people to think about JNGLSOUL as an accessible wellness brand, that you don’t have to put on a front to come and play. Just be you! You are enough!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today if it were not for my girlfriend, Sheri. She is the one who shows me the light when things get tough and my motivation when the road gets rocky. She calls me out when I’m working too hard and need to take breaks. She helps me see how far I’ve come when I think I should be further along. I wouldn’t be 2 1/2 years into my business without her! Thank you, Sheri, you are my rock!
