We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesus Rocha Centeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesus, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business. Wasn’t simple I always wanted to be my own boss. But I didn’t understand how to start a business, I went to college and took business classes that didn’t help me much. I begin reading books of Entrepreneurs. After reading some encouraging books like “ Rich Dad , Poor Dad”and “ Think and Grow Rich. in 2018 I decided to start my catering business and that’s how chueytacos started.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Chueytacos is not just another taco business. Chueytacos brings Taste, Authenticity and Satisfaction.

What sets chueytacos apart from others is ,consistency, passion and uniqueness.

What I am proud and excited about is the growth. From 2018-2020 the biggest challenge was to maintain the business running. Pandemic brought a lot of challenges but also a lot of opportunities. It gave the opportunity to planned and restructure. The biggest lesson these challenges brought was the Lesson of never giving up.

What I want the world to know about chueytacos, I want people to know that we are here to stay. Chueytacos will be part of Los Angeles for a long time. The goal is to bring as many locations to the city and expand. It won’t be easy but the passion and ambition I have for this will make it happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to downtown LA because it has entertainment, food, and other awesome places .

Things to check out for me are hiking trails . I enjoy hiking and when I have time I like enjoying the view of Hollywood and San Fernando. I also enjoy them parks , PopUPs are my favorite places to go . It brings a variety of vendors and amazing food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to my family my friends. Most importantly I want to give a huge shout out to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without my family and of course God, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I will always be thankful and blessed to have my family and God by my side.
