Meet Jill Magoffin | Certified Doula, Newborn Specialist and New Parent Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Magoffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My position as a Birth /Postpartum Doula and Newborn Specialist supports families that are entering into the world of parenthood. Parenting can be very overwhelming, especially with social media and the false sense of perfection it can portray. I work closely with new families to help ensure they feel empowered and comfortable in their new journeys!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a certified birth and postpartum Doula. I also am a New Parent Educator as well as Newborn Care Specialist. I support growing families from as early as the time of conception up until the first year of baby’s life. I emotionally and physically support as well as provide education on pregnancy up through baby’s first few months of life. I truly love what I do and it reflects in my work. I love to laugh and believe humor can comfort us even during our toughest times. I’m very hands on. I specialize in comfort care. I’ve noticed that most are so focused on the logistics of birth that self care seems to go to the side. I nurture, educate and make people laugh! With everyone social distancing, families that would normally have their “village” to help them are finding themselves alone. You are never alone by hiring me!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love China Town ! Delicious Chinese food and amazing and unique shops where you can buy treasures you might not find anywhere else but in China! I’d pick up my bestie and start with Dim sum at Golden Dragon. We’ve been going there for over 34 years. Then we would walk around the plaza across the street looking at all of the cool little stores. I’d then go to Phoenix Bakery for a yummy slice of their famous strawberry cake!

I want to thank all my family and friends who recognized my passion for birth work before I even did! Thank you to all my beautiful friends who allowed me to support them in their beautiful and miraculous journeys through the beginning of parenthood !
