Meet Joey Phantom | Rapper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joey Phantom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because music is my only true passion. I couldn’t live with the regret of not giving this my all, no matter the outcome. It’s something I know is right in my heart.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My music on itself sets me apart. My biggest strength is authenticity. I don’t sound like or imitate any artist , and my sound is unique. I am always working on my craft and getting better every day, my relentlessness will make me successful. I have been making music for almost 4 years now and it has been a long and tough road. Every day as a creative is a challenge and fighting demons and my own mental health has been my biggest obstacle. I could care less about outside opinions. I’ve learned the hard way that people don’t have your best interests in mind in the industry and to always stick with who believed in you from the beginning. Nobody can make you succeed but you. My brand revolves around my name, Joey Phantom. The phantom part is the spiritual aspect of me. We all have a spirit inside of us that is our true being, our physical self is just a vessel. Looking at others at what is inside will bring a better insight and understand to everyone, especially in these critical times. I want my fans to relate to me regardless of my appearance.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Breakfast at con huevos. Spend the day at the waterfront, check out Bardstown road or lagoon street market, eat at proof on main or guacamole, drinks at meta , kick it at my apartment and smoke and listen to some old records.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Rob Goodknight. He has believed in me since the very beginning and has dedicated countless hours towards my success all because he truly believe in me and wants to see me win.
