We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Strader and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of our brand is the years of planning and determination of working in the hospitality industry.

We have been able to work in the same lane for such a long time that being able to launch a successful brand in the middle of the pandemic wasn’t just luck. The years of experience plays such a significant role in success because of the factors to create a restaurant concept.

What should our readers know about your business?
My Partner Jack Leahy and I were able to launch a successful pizza brand in the middle of Covid-19. We were able to flip a Pho restaurant in 2 weeks and develop a brand that went viral in the middle of the most challenging times for the hospitality industry. We were able to bootstrap the opening and do everything ourselves with help from friends and family. We put our heads down were able to create something bigger than ourselves.

As of now we have two pizza stores open with a commercial kitchen that is servicing both locations and looking to expand the brand further.

We are also in construction for a California inspired Deli/Market in Long Beach as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The world is a bit different prior to Covid and I haven’t been able to enjoy the city as much as I have in the past. With that being said a few fun things that I have enjoyed are the following.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my old team and everyone that has worked with me in the past and present. I was one of the co-founders of Hatchet Hall and the level of talent that came though the doors that I was able to work with was next level. We all pushed ourselves to what we are now.
