Meet Jordyn Rax: Model & Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordyn Rax and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordyn, how do you think about risk?
As humans, we tend to fear the unknown and what might happen or what could go wrong but taking risks is how we grow and experience life. ‘Always bet on yourself’ is the motto I’ve been living out the past few years. I think in any industry, especially the entertainment industry, you have to step out on a limb and trust whatever the outcome will be, is for your greater good. You’ll either win or you’ll learn. That’s life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel that we are always on a path to a deeper understanding of self and life and that’s what I would say I’m always working towards. I’m consistently looking at how to become a better version of myself and how I can set an inspiring positive precedent for others aspiring to be in the industry. A lot of people will say it’s hard, at one point I might have agreed, but in reality, it’s all a mindset and how you perceive life. For me, it’s just been showing up. Showing up to auditions, shoots, or meetings with directors and producers regardless of any self-doubt that comes up in my mind. You regret the chances you didn’t take and that’s just where I’m at at this point in my life, you gotta take the chance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Without a doubt El Matador Beach in Malibu. If you catch it at the right times, it’s not too crowded and is absolutely stunning at sunset. I’m a brunch fanatic so that would have to be on the list, Nic’s on Beverly is a favorite of mine. Cecconi’s is always good for Italian on a cheat day. I’m an active person so hiking would be on the list, lots of options for that too.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been fortunate enough to gain my ‘soul tribe’ these past few years. They’ve really made all the difference. It’s important to have people around you that hold you accountable to the person you want to become and keep you grounded. On the hard days, they’re the ones calling me and encouraging me and on the great days, they’re celebrating with me. My circle is a small, tightly-knit one and I honestly wouldn’t change it. I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful to share journeys together with them.
